Altitude 22: A Home Designed for Meaningful Group Travel

Altitude 22 wasn’t created to be just another large vacation rental. It was created to solve a problem we kept running into ourselves.

Even in the most beautiful destinations, group trips often felt harder than they needed to be. Someone was always bored. Someone felt left out. And meaningful time together—real connection—was harder to come by than it should have been.

Altitude 22 is our answer to that.

A Personal Connection to New England

We’re Yash and Khushali, and our connection to New England runs deep.

We both spent formative years in Boston—Yash in medical school and Khushali studying optometry. Those years shaped not only our careers, but our love for this region: its seasons, its pace, and the way life here naturally balances adventure with reflection.

When we decided to come back and build something in Maine, we knew we didn’t want to create just a place to stay. We wanted to create a place that felt like something.

The Moment That Sparked Altitude 22

Like many families and friend groups, we’ve taken our share of group trips. And while the destinations were often stunning, the stays didn’t always live up to the promise.

Even in homes that slept a lot of people, togetherness didn’t feel seamless. Spaces weren’t designed with everyone in mind. Kids and teens drifted to screens. Grandparents felt like an afterthought. And the moments that mattered most—the laughter, the shared experiences—often felt unplanned or rushed.

That realization shaped the heart of Altitude 22.

We wanted to create a home where connection wasn’t accidental—it was built in.

Designing a Home Around Shared Experience

Altitude 22, located in Bethel, sleeps up to 19 guests and was designed intentionally for group travel that actually works.

Every design choice came back to one question:

How does this help people come together?

That philosophy shows up throughout the home:

  • A dedicated karaoke lounge with immersive lighting that turns quiet nights into shared memories
  • A theater room designed for movie nights everyone can enjoy together
  • A kids arcade room built for nonstop energy and shared fun
  • Custom Experience Cards placed throughout the home to spark connection, conversation, and adventure

From grandparents to toddlers to big friend groups, no one is overlooked.

A Home That Celebrates Every Season

Maine is a true four-season destination, and Altitude 22 was designed to embrace that fully.

Winter at Altitude 22

Winter days are about adventure—and evenings are about recovery and connection.

  • Heated outdoor pool
  • Hot tub and full sauna
  • Ski-day details like a boot warmer
  • A rec room that becomes the heart of the home after a day outside

Summer at Altitude 22

In summer, the home opens up and slows down.

  • Expansive mountain-view deck
  • Outdoor heated pool
  • Seamless indoor-outdoor flow designed for long, lingering gatherings

No matter the season, the home adapts to how groups actually live together.

Design That Feels Intentional, Warm, and Personal

Throughout Altitude 22, every room carries thoughtful touches:

  • Handpicked furnishings
  • Playful custom murals
  • Cozy corners meant for both rest and celebration

We wanted the home to feel elevated but never cold—design-driven, but deeply welcoming. A place that feels visually memorable while still inviting you to kick off your shoes and stay awhile.

More Than a Stay

Altitude 22 is about more than where you sleep.

It’s about:

  • Laughing together instead of scrolling
  • Sharing moments instead of managing logistics
  • Creating memories that feel natural, not forced

We built this home to honor Maine’s beauty—but also to honor the time people carve out to be together. That time is rare. It deserves a space that supports it.

Our Hope for Altitude 22

We hope Altitude 22 becomes a place where:

  • Families reconnect across generations
  • Friends celebrate milestones
  • Groups return year after year because it finally worked

If our story resonates, we’d love for you to experience the home for yourself—or share it with others who value thoughtful design, meaningful connection, and modern group travel.
